[REVIEW] Belif The True Cream - Aqua Bomb Moisturizer

Sunday, February 3, 2019

Hello, everyone!

Happy February! I couldn't believe that it's been one month in since the new year. How do guys been enjoying 2019 so far? Any new skincare or makeup tips to share? I would love to hear new recommendations! Do you guys think that 2019 will be the year of makeup minimalism, or do you guys still looove that on fleek and bold makeup? Well, I personally think my 2019 will be the year of the skin! And to top that off, I have my not-so-new HG moisturizer to share!

I knooow, I know. Many people have been loving this moisturizer for a long time, even I decided to buy this moisturizer because all the reviews all over the internet. Yep. The internet made me buy it. And I didn't regret it at all.
It's a jar moisturizer, so for those of you that doesn't quite have an existing self-control when it comes to scooping out a product, you may be struggling with this one :p

This product claims to NOT have the following ingredients: parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic preservatives, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances and animal origins ingredients. You can read the full ingredients list on this ingredients analyzer.

Although they claim to not have synthetic fragrances, when you open the product, it has some kind of a strong smell (pardon me for not being able to properly describe a smell, though). I honestly think that the smell is very refreshing, citrusy, and a bit sweet but spicy. But, not too worry, the smell will not linger on your skin after you apply it.

Also, since this is a gel moisturizer, it has a lightweight and watery consistency. A little bit does go along the way. It also absorbs into the skin very well, I always feel hydrated without being too heavy, and this product doesn't make my skin oilier! A true moisturizer made for oily skin fellas~ However though, this product contains silicone (dimethicone) which has a comedogenic rating of 1 and is on the 6th list on the ingredients list. That's why this moisturizer goes on very smooth on the skin and will make your skin feel soft to the touch. Alcohol denatured is also on the 5th list of the ingredients, which is a bit frustrating to hear, but my skin has no problem with the ingredients at all. In fact, I've been loving my skin since I started using this moisturizer again. I was suddenly having tiny bumps (beruntusan) all over my forehead and on my jawline, and when I came back using this Aqua Bomb moisturizer, the bumps were all gone. I guess alcohol isn't that bad? Even though I have no scientific, reliable knowledge for the impact that alcohol has on the skin because I'm not a qualified dermatologist, but I think the combinations of all the ingredients on this product must have altered the bad side effects of alcohol. Well, different skin will react differently to different products, am I right? It's just about finding the right product to use.

The final verdict
This moisturizer is officially one of my HG moisturizer! Our first encountered was back in 2017, and I guess I wasn't really appreciating this moisturizer just because I had other skincare products that I was loving at the time. You know, when you have the right skincare regime and your skin is bomb AF, sometimes you just don't even know which product is doing the most. All you know is all those products work miraculously together. However, this moisturizer is definitely a good one even on its own. I've changed all my skincare products from 2017 and started a new routine, and this moisturizer is still doing its job, even healing my tiny bumps! And on the days where I feel like my skin doesn't need much, I will only use this moisturizer and a toner. And you know what? It still keep the breakouts away. This moisturizer is also very lightweight, moisturizing but not too much. As an oily skin gal, the one thing that I'm looking in a moisturizer is the one that will hydrate my skin without making my skin look like an oil mine, which I definitely found on this moisturizer. And not only that I love the feel of it, I also love the smell of it! (Which may not be a good thing for some people.)

Rate: 4.5/5. I would really love to give it 5/5, and although I had no bad reactions to the alcohol in this moisturizer, it's still a concern to me.

Repurchase? Yes, but I still want to try other moisturizer, just because!

Have you guys tried this moisturizer? Belif recently came up with its own sleeping mask, if anyone has tried it, please give me some light!
