[REVIEW] Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush

Friday, July 20, 2018

Hi, everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and is rich of positivity! Likewise, today I am going to share my thoughts of the blushes that I am currently obsessed with, which is the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in feisty and paaarty!

These matte finish blushes claim to stay on for 12 hours! (And the bonus points are: these blushes are formulated without parabens and sulfates.)

(Pictures taken under direct sunlight) The blush on the left is in the shade of paaarty, and on the right is feisty.

(Pictures taken with flash) The blush on the left is in the shade of paaarty, and on the right is feisty.

This is what the back of the packaging looks like. It should be used within 12 months from opening.

Now, in terms of the packaging, I would say that there's nothing special about it. It comes in a simple plastic compact with no mirror inside and also no applicator included. The color of the packaging will depend on the color of the blush because it will mimic the color of the blush. Additionally, it should be noted that these blushes are the mini version of the original blush, that's why it only weighs 1.5 grams. For the original size, it weighs 5.6 grams, and it retails for $29.

In comparison, you can tell from the picture below that I like paaarty more than feisty. This is what paaarty looks like.

The shade paaarty is like a cool-toned dusty rose color.

Meanwhile, this is what the shade of feisty looks like. This shade is like a warm mauve color.

Below are the swatches of the blushes, taken under direct sunlight. The swatch on the left is the shade feisty, while on the right is the shade paaarty. Both of the colors look gorgeous and suitable for daily use.

The finish of both of the colors is matte and its not powdery. The colors are also pretty pigmented for a blush, but it's still buildable. That is why, I think this powder blush is suitable for every look because you can get the intensity that you want.

I love this blushes! First of all, I really like both of the colors. I can go from an engagement party to a night out with friends with these blushes, and it will not go wrong! Although these blushes are in powder form, they are not powder or chalky at all. They are very easy to blend, and like what I've said before, these colors are buildable. These blushes are part of my daily makeup routine and keep in mind that I have a very, very oily skin, but these blushes can stay on my face the whole day! I never expected any powder to stay on my face for longer than 4 hours because honestly though, my face will turn into a giant mess of oil throughout the day, and I will always have to use blotting paper for every 3 hours. But, these blushes can survive! Although at the end of the day the blush will start to fade away, but it fades away beautifully. Its not like it completely gone from my face, but it still leave a lovely hint of blush on my face, which I very like. Thus, I wouldn't say that these blushes can stay on for 12 hours on my overly oily face, but I can say that it did stay on fleek on my face for about 8 hours before it started to fade. However, I think these blushes might stay longer if you have a normal/dry skin types. It should also be noted that my experienced with these blushes was not accompanied with a setting spray because I rarely used one, except for an important event. So, I can vouch that these blushes are long-wearing!
