[REVIEW] Benetint by Benefit

Sunday, February 12, 2017

Hello, gorgeous!

In today's posting I'm gonna share my thoughts about Benetint cheek and lip stain by Benefit. I know, and we all know that Benetint was such a hit when it was released. Everyone was going crazy for it, even some people might still do now.. and the other might change their directions into Korean lip tint. The thing is, we all love lip tint!

I was first introduced with Benetint in 2014 (Yeah, that was almost 3 years ago. I get it. This review was supposed to be posted a long time ago.) And I was crazy for it when I first used it, just like everybody else. However, as the time went by, I wasn't really into it anymore. I don't use it too often just like what I used to do before. And honestly, I have no idea why. Maybe I wasn't into lip tint anymore.. or maybe because lip tint wasn't really fit for me again. In-between guys, in-between.

But, look at how appealing the tube is! Simple yet attractive. You can see clearly the liquid inside the tube, the color is red like a rose. The size is also travel-friendly and the lid is tight enough to protect the liquid inside the tube from leaking.

The brush applicator is super soft and gentle. I almost feel like ticklish when I applied it onto my lips, it was too soft to handle!

The texture is really light and liquidy, it almost feels like water. The consistency is similar to water too, it's really fast to get absorbed. As you can see, I was just put the swatch on my hand but then the second after that, it got soaked up.

For the lips,  just sweep the applicator onto your lips and blend it. If you want the color to be really red, you can apply it a few times. The picture above shows my lips when I applied Benetint, I only swept it one time because I wanted the color to be sheer red. I like the color because it gives you a neutral look. But, the staying power is really bad. I feel like even when I used it without getting a drink or a food, it was just suddenly fade away. Also, I feel like sometimes it makes my lips to be dry. That's why, I recommend using Benebalm as a companion to increase the staying power. And for other alternative, you can combine using Benetint with a gloss or a lipstick with the same color.

The color mostly settled on the center of my lips.

For the cheek, I usually use the applicator to make three lines on my cheek as you see on the picture above. It gives you a very natural, rosy looking cheeks! And more about that, it also stays on your cheeks for almost the entire day! I'm not kidding, guys. This is the main reason why I love Benetint. Every time I used it, the color never fade away from the moment I applied it onto my cheeks until the moment I took my makeup off, even when I was sweating. I think the longest time it stayed on my cheeks was about 11 hours. Crazy, isn't it? 11 hours without doing a touch up on your cheeks, guys!

This is the overall look! I used Benetint on my cheeks and my lips.

Finally, I came up with this thoughts:

What I like about it:
-Long lasting and natural looking blush
-This cheek stain would suit for almost every skin types
-A little goes a long way
-Smells like a rose
-Could be used as a base for blush powder
-Comes with its own brush
-Natural looking lip tint
-Could be used as a companion to make a gradation lips
-I think it's perform better as a cheek stain

What I don't like about it:
-To use it as a lip tint, sometimes it makes my lips dry
-It only settled on the center of my lips
-When I blend it with my finger, it stains
-A bit pricey ($30 for 0.42 oz)

Rate: 7/10
Repurchase? Maybe!

These thoughts are just my opinion, guys! Maybe it would work better as a lip stain for some of you, or even some of you will like it as a lip stain and a cheek stain. Anyway, this product have a really beautiful rosy color! Who doesn't like it, right? :D

    1. Thank you so much for the compliment! And I will consider trying Innisfree lip tint, but which one are you suggesting? I'd really love to try it, since I haven't tried any make up products from Korea! :D
